CDL-A Local Truck Driver

We are looking for a safety-focused CDL-A Truck Driver to safely transport Cust-O-Fab products and materials to and from assigned locations. This position is responsible for securing loads, completing deliveries on time, assisting with loading and unloading, and maintaining company vehicles and required documentation.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport products and materials to and from assigned destinations.
• Pick up, organize, load, and properly secure materials on flatbed trailers.
• Inspect loads and securement to help prevent damage and unsafe conditions.
• Assist customers, contractors, and other personnel with loading and unloading as needed.
• Obtain required signatures to confirm and complete deliveries.
• Submit signed packing slips, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and other required paperwork before the end of the workday.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company vehicles.
• Maintain company vehicles in a clean and safe operating condition.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance as needed, including fueling, checking tire pressure, checking fluid levels, and reporting maintenance needs.
• Notify management of significant vehicle, maintenance, safety, or delivery issues.
• Maintain accurate driving, delivery, and required DOT logs.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws and operate the vehicle safely based on weather, road, and traffic conditions.
• Comply with all applicable DOT regulations and company safety requirements.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries and pickups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) required.
• Previous experience operating a large commercial truck preferred.
• Experience operating a truck with a flatbed trailer preferred.
• Ability to safely maneuver and back a large truck and flatbed trailer.
• Knowledge of proper load securement practices preferred.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain alert and focused while driving and performing physical work.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and documentation accurately.
• Dependable and able to meet scheduled pickup and delivery times.

Working Conditions

• Position requires regular driving and travel to customer and project locations.
• Work is performed both inside and outside and requires working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Regularly required to walk, stand, climb, reach, bend, push, pull, and handle heavy materials and equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• May require frequent climbing on and off trailers and equipment.
• Exposure to industrial shops, construction sites, loading areas, traffic, and other active work environments.
• May require extended hours, overtime, and varying schedules based on delivery and project requirements.
• Must wear required PPE and follow all applicable company, customer, and DOT safety requirements.
